Special events
Special events at libraries can include talks by authors, storytelling shows for children, book festivals and much more. Check these web pages or visit your local library to find out what's on.
Every summer we invite children to take part in the Children's Summer Reading Challenge.
Book sales
From time to time libraries have sales of books that are no longer needed. Libraries are always buying new stock such as books, CDs and DVDs to maintain a good quality of material for lending. Book sales often have a range of items – both children's and adult material – to buy at a very low cost.
Be a volunteer
We offer a range of opportunities for anyone interested in volunteering with Thurrock libraries.
