Libraries

Libraries will be closed on Thursday 4 December for staff training. Two libraries will be open for self-service:

East Tilbury Library 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm

Purfleet Library and Hub

10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm

Items can be renewed online at www.thurrock.gov.uk

Circus Skills Family Day in Tilbury on Saturday 29 November, and children's Christmas story and craft events during December. Find out more here

All libraries/hubs will be closed from Wednesday 24 December until Saturday 27 December

On Wednesday 31 December all libraries/hubs will close at 1pm

All libraries/hubs will be closed on Thursday 1 January 2026

Normal opening times for libraries resume from Friday 2 January with the exception of Aveley Library and hub which reopens on Monday 5 January
