What's in your library

Your new Libraries website – launching on 1 April

We will be launching our new Libraries website on Wednesday 1 April. The site will not only have an improved look and feel, for the first time you will be able search the catalogue, join, log in to your account and borrow books from the homepage. Our existing Library webpages will be offline from Friday 20 March, in preparation for launching the new site. All your account information will be carried across on Friday 20, and will be there in the new site. The App will continue working throughout. We have more information on our website

Community food pantries

A community pantry offers food to local people who suffer from hunger or do not have enough food to eat. Several of our libraries have a community pantry. Some also have a community fridge.

Anyone can use a community pantry – there's no need for identification or forms. Items in the pantry are free but we ask all visitors to take no more than 3 items each day. This is to make sure there's enough for anyone in need.

We welcome donations to our community pantries. You can donate unopened tinned or packaged food. Perishable food such as fresh fruit or dairy products can be donated at libraries with a community fridge.

Drinks with alcohol cannot be donated as alcohol is not allowed in libraries.

You can visit community pantries at the following libraries during normal opening hours:
