Starting a sports club or group

Sport England has advice for anyone thinking of starting a new community sports club.

Whether you are a sports coach, keen sportsperson or take regular exercise with a group of friends, their ideas will help you plan your next steps.

Go to the Sport England: Club Matters website.

Volunteering

Volunteers are important for sports clubs. They help with coaching, officiate at matches, and help clubs run smoothly.

If you are new to volunteering and would like to find out what is involved, then contact Volunteer Centre Thurrock for information about volunteer roles available near you, help and advice.

Support for community groups, not for profit sports groups, faith groups and small enterprise CIC’s is offered by Thurrock CVS who can offer help and advice with setting up or managing your group or organisation.
