Housing Service Resident Panel

The Housing Service Resident Panel plays a vital role in ensuring tenant voices are heard and services are improved. This aligns with new legal obligations introduced under the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, which came into full effect in 2025. These changes place resident engagement at the heart of housing governance.

Panel members are council tenants who have applied to work alongside our housing teams to improve services and make sure residents have a say.

If you are community-minded and would like to join the panel, go to our volunteering page where you can download, complete and return an application form.

Working groups

As well as the main Housing Service Resident Panel, we have working groups that bring together residents and service areas to collaborate, share knowledge and perspective in the development of service improvements. The working groups will focus on specific challenges or opportunities within the Housing sector listed below:

  • Health and Safety
  • Tenancy
  • Complaints
  • Housing News

Housing Service Resident Panel meetings

The Housing Service Resident Panel bi-monthly at the Civic Offices in New Road, Grays. Attendance is by invitation only.
