Parenting Support for All Ages

Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC)

A group programme that helps parents understand how children’s behaviour changes as they grow. It focuses on building stronger family bonds and promoting positive parenting.

Supporting Parents of Teenagers (STOP)

A step-by-step course for parents of children aged 10 to 16. It helps improve communication and understand what teenagers are really saying or needing.

Tailored Parenting

A personalised programme that combines best practices from evidence-based parenting courses. It can be delivered on its own or alongside a parenting assessment.

Video-Based Support

Video Interaction Guidance (VIG)

Uses short video clips of real-life interactions between parents and children to improve communication and strengthen relationships.

VIPP-SD

A video-feedback programme that helps parents see the world through their child’s eyes. It supports attachment, emotional connection, and positive discipline.

Virtual Reality Intervention (VRI)

A unique 3-session course using virtual reality to help parents understand real-life scenarios. It builds self-awareness, confidence, and trauma-informed responses.

Support for Dads

Confident Dads

A 6-week group for fathers, focusing on parenting skills and promoting children’s safety and wellbeing.

Mellow Dad-to-Be

Helps expectant dads reduce stress and understand the importance of bonding and early interaction with their baby.

Managing Conflict and Relationships

Family Mediation

Supports families in managing conflict, including separated or separating parents. Delivered through Family Hubs, the Think Family Service, or specialist services.

Reducing Parental Conflict

Helps parents communicate better and reduce conflict, improving outcomes for children.
Courses include:

  • Arguing Better – Learn to manage disagreements constructively.
  • Me, You and Baby Too – For new or expecting parents adjusting to life with a baby.
  • Getting it Right for Children – For separated parents focusing on co-parenting.

Specialist Support

Non-Violent Resistance (NVR)

Supports parents dealing with aggressive, controlling, or self-destructive behaviour in children or young adults. Helps parents take a calm, strong approach.

FLASH (Families Learning About Self-Harm)

A course for parents and carers of young people who self-harm. It focuses on improving communication and family relationships.

Mellow Bumps

An antenatal programme for mums-to-be. It helps reduce stress during pregnancy and supports early bonding and brain development.
