War memorials in Thurrock

Memorials in Thurrock honour local fallen service personnel from the World War 1, World War 2 and modern conflicts including the Falklands campaign, Gulf War and Afghanistan.

Many of the memorials have small planting areas, while others are stone structures sometimes located in parks or open spaces.

Remembrance events will take place in 2018 to mark 100 years since the end of World War 1. Ahead of this centenary, we want to make sure all the borough's war memorials, monuments and graves are in the best possible condition.
