Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Valmar Avenue - Stanford Le Hope

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to: -

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Valmar Avenue between its junctions with Butts Lane and Old Jenkins Close.

- Prohibit any vehicle from Parking At Any Time along both kerb lines of Valmar Avenue from its junction with Butts Lane for a distance of approx. 30m in an easterly direction.

- Prohibit any vehicle from Parking At Any Time along the eastern kerb line of Butts Lane from a point approx 92m south if its junction with London Road for a distance of approx 30m in a southerly direction.

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to install a raised table.

3) The alternative route for eastbound vehicles is Butts Lane northbound, London Road eastbound, Rayleigh Road, and Valmar Avenue and vice versa for westbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.

4) The Order will come into force on the 27th April 2026 at 08:00hrs and remain in force continuously until 1st May 2026 at 17:00. Exact dates however will always be specified o n https://one.network/?tm=GB149242878 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
