Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Third Avenue, Turold Road, Gideons Way, Stanford Le Hope
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Third Avenue between its junctions with Southend Road and Churchill Crescent.
- Prohibit any vehicle from Parking At Any Time along Third Avenue between its junctions with Southend Road and Churchill Crescent.
- Prohibit any vehicles from egressing onto Third Avenue from Turold Road and Gideons Way.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing.
3) The alternative route for northwest bound vehicles is Southend Road, First Avenue, Branksome Avenue, Third Avenue and vice versa for southeast bound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times. The alternative route to access and egress Turold Road is via Anthony Drive. The alternative route to access and egress Gideons way and other side roads is via Rose Valley Crescent.
4) The Order will come into force on the 8th December 2025 at 08:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place over one day between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=GB146840138 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner
