Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Sandy Lane - Aveley

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Sandy Lane between its junctions with A1306 New Road and Romford Road roundabout.

- Prohibit any vehicle from parking at Any Time during the times of the Order along both kerb lines of Sandy Lane bewteen its junctions with A1306 New Road and Romford Road roundabout.

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing.

3) The alternative route for eastbound vehicles is New Road (A1306), Entry On Slip Wennington Interchange to A13 eastbound, A13 eastbound, Exit Off Slip A13 Eastbound to Orsett Cock Interchange, Orsett Cock Interchange, Brentwood Road A128 northbound, Bulphan Bypass A128, Tilbury Road A128, Halfway House Interchange A127 westbound, Exit Slip from A127 to B186 westbound, Link Between A127 and B186 westbound, Warley Street, Church Lane, St Marys Lane, Clay Tye Road, Ockendon Road, North Road, West Road, Arisdale Avenue, Daiglen Drive, Stifford Road, Lance Corporal Nicky Mason Way, Romford Road Roundabout and vice versa for westbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.

4) The Order will come into force on the 2nd July 2025 at 19:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place nightly between 2nd July 2025 and 5th July 2025 between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=143840145 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner 6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
