Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Rectory Road - Grays

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:

- Prohibit any vehicle from parking At Any Time along both kerb lines of Rectory Road from a point approx. 22m north of its junction with Eastern Road for a distance of approx. 90m in a northerly direction, including the disabled bay on the western kerb line.

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Virgin Media to carry out installation of a tee.telecoms apparatus.

3) The disabled bay is referred to as the bay on the western kerbline of Rectory Road approx 60m north of its junction with Whitehall Road for a distance of approx 6m in a northerly direction.

4) The Order will come into force on the 11th February 2026 at 10:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place during the one day between the hours of 10:00 and 15:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=GB147712231 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
