Notice of intention to apply to stop up Whitehall Lane, Fobbing.
NOTICE is given that Thurrock Council as Highway Authority intends to apply to BASILDON MAGISTRATES' COURT sitting at The Court House, Great Oaks, Basildon SS14 1EH on 17th June 2026 at 12 noon for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of Whitehall Lane Fobbing shown shaded black on the attached plan on the grounds that it is unnecessary.
A copy of the draft Order and Plan may be obtained by contacting prow@thurrock.gov.uk free of charge.
Any person to whom this Notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order may appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application. Any person intending to appear before the Magistrates' Court at the hearing of the application is requested to inform Highway Maintenance at prow@thurrock.gov.uk before the 22nd May 2026 quoting reference Whitehall Lane Fobbing / 170626.
