Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Muckingford Road, West Tilbury
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Muckingford Road between its junctions with Low Street Lane and Beechcroft Avenue.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable LTC contractors to construct bell mouth for the LTC compound. Works in and around the area will all work collaboratively with only one closure in progress at any one time.
3) The alternative route for westbound vehicles will be East Tilbury Road, Buckingham Hill Road, Stanford Road westbound, Orsett Cock Interchange, A13 westbound, A1089, Marshfoot Road, Linford Road, and Muckingford Road and vice versa for eastbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.
4) The Order will come into force on the 23rd March 2026 at 20:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place nightly between 23rd March 2026 and 23rd May 2026 between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, however when other closures in the area are taking place that utilise the diversion route, the closure on Muckingford Road will not take place. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/? tm=GB148810444 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner
6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
