Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Botany Way, Purfleet-on-Thames
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Botany Way from its junction with Botany Way roundabout for a distance of approx 50m in a southerly direction.
- Prohibit any vehicles from Parking during the times of the Order on the western kerb line of Botany Way from its junction with London Road for a distance of approx 90m in a northerly direction.
- Prohibit any vehicles from parking during the times of the Order on the southern kerb line of London Road from its junction with Botany Way for a distance of approx 50m in a westerly direction.
- Temporarily revoke the 7.5tn weight restriction on London Road between its junctions with Beacon Hill and Botany Way.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock to carry out carriageway resurfacing.
3) The alternative route for southbound vehicles is Purfleet Bypass, Stonehouse Corner Roundabout, London Road and Botany Way and vice versa for northbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times via the diversion route.
4) The Order will come into force on the 14th July 2025 at 19:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place over one night between 14th July 2025 and 15th July 2025 between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=143113096 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner
6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
