Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Blackshots Lane, Crowstone Road and Broadview - Grays

NOTE: The full schedule of works is show in the attachment 

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to: -

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Blackshots Lane, Crowstone Road and Broadview in accordance with Schedule One to the Order.

- Prohibit any vehicle from parking along both kerb lines of Blackshots Lane, Crowstone Road and Broadview, in accordance with Schedule One to the Order.

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out installation of speed cushions and a raised table.

3) The alternative route for southbound vehicles on Blackshots Lane is Long Lane, Treacle Mine Roundabout, Lodge Lane, Daneholes Roundabout, and Blackshots Lane and vice versa for northbound vehicles. The alternative route for eastbound vehicles when Crowstone Road is closed, will be northbound on Crowstone Road into Long Lane joinging the main diversion. Works and closures will be carried out in phases as shown in Schedule One. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.

4) The Order will come into force on the 7th April 2026 at 08:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place daily between 7th April 2026 and 3rd May 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/? tm=GB149146779 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
