Following rumours and speculation about the future use of the former Tilbury Police Station site Thurrock Council can confirm that it has received a planning application which seeks to convert it into new homes.
The planning application, which can be viewed on the council’s planning webpage under reference 25/01020/FUL, seeks permission to convert the building to nine new flats, 2 two-bedroom flats and 7 three-bedroom flats, with associated car parking spaces, bike storage and wase and recycling facilities.
As is the case with all planning applications comments on the proposals can be made by anyone through the council’s planning webpage; the council has also written to neighbours of the site to notify them of the application and advise them how they can submit their comments and a public site notice has been displayed. Consultation on the application is open until 16 September
It is scheduled for a decision by 21 October 2025.
The planning application can be found online at Planning Application Summary: 25/01020/FUL
