Fostering

Choosing to foster is one of the most important decisions you will ever make

We're looking for new or experienced foster carers

We urgently need foster carers who can offer a home to siblings, giving them a chance to stay together. You don't have to be living in the borough. If you think you could provide a home for these children, please let us know you’re interested in fostering, or join us at one of our events.

Open evenings and weekends – see a presentation on the steps to becoming a carer and hear from current carers to find out what fostering for Thurrock is really like. Presentations begin 15 minutes after the start times:

  • Wednesday 28 August, 6:30pm to 8:30pm, Community Club, Brandon Groves Avenue, South Ockendon, RM15 6TD

Drop-in and meet the team – join us for an informal chat:

  • Friday 23 August, 10:30am to 3:30pm, Bishop's Hall Park, Elizabeth Road, Brentwood, CM15 9NP
  • Friday 30 August, 10:30am to 3:30pm, King George's Playing Fields, Ingrave Road, Warley, Brentwood, CM14 5AE
  • Saturday 7 September, 10am to 4pm, Orsett Show, Rectory Road, Orsett, RM16 3JU

Free fostering training

'The Skills to Foster' courses take place at the Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL, either over 3 days or 6 evenings.
