Detailed planning consent for the site was granted subject to conditions in July 2016, application reference 15/01483/FUL.

The signed Section 106 legal agreement for the site, dated 5th July 2016 states that a Travel Plan is required and was approved by Thurrock Council and Highways England in July 2017.

Staff Modal Split

The survey identified that 43% travelled by non-car means, 18% car share with Amazon colleagues, and only 32% of staff drive alone to LCY2.

The survey also identified that of those staff living within the Thurrock area, the main travel modes were 23% driving (alone) and 19% walking. Additionally some 40% car share either as a driver or passenger and 37% travel by non-car means.

Dec 17 – 470 max; typically 150-250 (max figures recorded at shift change over, and are the highest recorded day in the monitoring period)

Dec 18 – 550 max;  

June 19 – 438 (max); typically 250-400;

August 19 – 700 (max); typically 230-300;

Dec 19 – 831 (max); (32% headcount)

Jan/Feb 20 – 794 (max) (27% headcount)         

The data from the monitoring of the decked car park indicated that on average during the December peak, the car park occupancy was frequently below the 1080 spaces maximum occupancy.

Planning permission granted in July 2019 with condition 28, which indicates that, a Travel Plan would be required.

This site has not yet been brought into use, and therefore there are no travel survey responses or vehicle monitoring reports available.
